Bayard - 6% alc/vol

Comments - For Brasserie Demarche in Ciney

Cuvée de Ciney 10 - 9% alc/vol

Tasting Notes - Pleasant, fruity malt and bitter chocolate marred by strong candy sugar taste.

Cuvée de Ciney Blonde - 7% alc/vol

Tasting Notes - An unexciting beer that neither excites the taste buds nor quenches the thirst.

Cuvée de Ciney Brune - 7% alc/vol

Tasting Notes - Another disappointing beer. The nose is not particularly impressive but suggested more than the beer could deliver.

Cuvée de l'Ermitage - 7.5% alc/vol

Comments - 2001 back to 7.5% from 8.5%. Used to be a good beer but too much recipe tinkering in recent years.
Tasting Notes - A moderately complex beer though the finish disappoints due to the strong, candied sweetness.

Cuvée de l'Ermitage Christmas - 8% alc/vol

Tasting Notes - Shame about the burnt edge to the palate and the saccharin in the finish - it could have been an excellent after dinner beer.

Faro - 1.25% alc/vol

Grimbergen Blonde - 7% alc/vol

Tasting Notes - Overpoweringly sweet. Typifies what multi-nationals do best !

Grimbergen Cuvée Speciale

Grimbergen Dubbel - 6.5% alc/vol

Tasting Notes - Starts promisingly but fades to a disappointing blandness in the end.

Grimbergen Optimo Bruno - 10% alc/vol

Tasting Notes - Totally uncompromising with a strong peardrop alcohol overlaying a fruity malt background.

Grimbergen Pater Familias - 7% alc/vol

Grimbergen Roussa - 6.2% alc/vol

Grimbergen Tripel - 9% alc/vol

Tasting Notes - Certainly leaves you in no doubt as to the alcohol content but comes across as a reasonably full flavoured but quite sweet version of a triple. With less sweetness it has the potentioal to be a good beer.

Judas - 8.5% alc/vol

Tasting Notes - Quite good example of a Duvel-type golden ale with a strong taste. Not a bad substitute but lacks the complexity.

Roobens Rood - 4% alc/vol

Rubens Goud - 4.3% alc/vol

Tasting Notes - A dry, uninspiring hop and malt taste don't favour this beer.

Tafelbier - 1.3% alc/vol

Watneys Scotch - 8% alc/vol

Tasting Notes - Certainly doesn't taste 8%. Far too sweet and cloying to be considered a true example of a Scotch ale.
